GS Yuasa Corporation (Tokyo Stock Exchange: 6674; “GS Yuasa”) today announced that it has commenced deliberations concerning termination of manufacturing activities at its Odawara Plant at the end of March 2022, and a subsequent withdrawal from the plant during the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023.

The aim of withdrawing from the Odawara Plant is to facilitate further consolidation of business sites as part of GS Yuasa’s efforts to strengthen its management foundation in line with its Fifth Mid-Term Management Plan.

Note that, regardless of any future withdrawal from the Odawara Plant, business activities currently performed at the plant will be performed at other GS Yuasa plants, and GS Yuasa will continue to sell motorcycle lead-acid batteries and industrial alkaline batteries . Employees currently working at the Odawara Plant will also be able to transfer to other GS Yuasa Group business sites.
