On June 4, 2013, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation announced a recall of Outlander and other car models using batteries manufactured by Lithium Energy Japan Corporation, a subsidiary of GS Yuasa Corporation. The recall has caused significant inconvenience to and concern among vehicle owners and related parties. GS Yuasa Corporation takes this matter very seriously, and in a sense of social responsibility over this issue and in order to clarify management responsibility for the decline in the financial results of its lithium-ion battery business, it has been decided that executives will return a portion of their remuneration as follows.

Details of remuneration to be returned:

President and Representative Director: 20% of monthly remuneration for two months

Other Directors: 10% of monthly remuneration for two months
